During my internship at Birdcage Press, I designed layouts for book spreads and playing cards.

These are sample cards from two sets of playing cards that were designed by my team to sell at Universal Studios. Both the Transformers and the Simpsons are pop culture phenomena, so maintaining consistency with the established brand was essential.

I contributed to nearly all phases of these projects. I researched brand guides to ensure our compliance with brand standards, helped with the layout and design of the cards, created the foreground graphics, carefully paired character images with background textures that would support them, and created 3D mockups of the cards for our proposal.

This is an interactive brochure about the planets in our solar system. It is designed to engage kids by challenging them and encouraging them to have fun while learning. The brochure consists of six circles of varying sizes. They are attached by eyelets that allow each circle to rotate. When it’s closed up, all you can see are snippets of planets and space. The content is hidden, until you open it to discover a lot of interesting facts.

I worked completely independently on this project. I developed the concept, selected the imagery, researched the topic, wrote the text, created the infographics, designed the layout, and printed and assembled the piece.

Crème is an ice cream truck that travels to major tech companies in the bay area. It combines the nostalgia of ice cream trucks with the food quality of a permanent store front. The challenge was to reflect the playful and indulgent aspect of the brand while preserving the book’s effectiveness as a reference tool.

I went through several iterations when designing the logo for Créme. In the end, the logo deemed most effective was the one that gave the company a face. The other logos lacked personality and weren’t as memorable.

Pajamas for Dinner is a women’s casual clothing company. The name is based on the claim that their clothes are comfortable enough to wear to bed, but cute enough to wear to dinner. The handles of this shopping bag are adjustable and mimic drawstrings on clothing. The bag is trapezoidal. One side looks like a skirt and the other side looks like a pair of legs silhouetting a woman. I created the company’s identity and all aspects of the bag design.

Fashion plays a significant role in the daily lives of most women, without us even realizing it. Our environment, our experiences, our relationships, and endless other factors influence the clothes we wear. This book is a compilation of interviews from several strong, admirable women in my life. They discuss their thoughts on fashion and the role it plays in their lives. This is not a fashion advice book. Rather, it is an exploration of fashion as a form of self-expression. The design, editing, and photography for the book were all done by me.
