ZÜCA, Inc. – PALO ALTO, CA

Senior Graphic Designer — June 2012 to March 2016

Key projects:

  • Surface Design: Designed graphics and surface patterns for ZÜCA luggage and accessories. This included moodboarding, conceptualizing, designing, and sending detailed specifications to the manufacturer.
  • Branding: Developed and maintained a living document of brand guidelines for ZÜCA. Revamped marketing collateral, POP materials and packaging.
  • Marketing: Conceptualized ad campaigns, directed photography, and designed print ads for new product launches. Improved the appearance and effectiveness of ZÜCA’s email and social media promotions.
  • Production: Mentored and oversaw the Production Artist. Developed prepress guidelines to reduce errors and provide structure for our small team. Proposed a solution to a complicated problem that significantly improved our team’s efficiency on future projects.

 


BIRDCAGE PRESS – PALO ALTO, CA

Graphic and Web Designer — June 2010 to December 2011

Worked directly with an Art Director designing educational card games and books. Assisted with packaging design, page layout, card design, catalogue design, sell sheet design, image selection, and proof reader edits. Web-based responsibilities included blog updates, website design, and website maintenance.

Designed a collection of versatile mastheads for e-newsletters.


SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK – SANTA CLARA, CA

Updated the organization’s infographics to convey the donation process in a concise way.


CITY OF SUNNYVALE, CA

Designed a poster for a special Christmas event hosted by the city.

Designed posters, flyers, websites, and digital signage for short run events. This often included full campaigns, from idea development to execution across a variety of platforms.

Worked on projects related to stream restoration, pump station design, storm drain systems, floodplain mapping and levee certification. Used AutoCAD and ArcMap software  daily.
